Western Australia
Balga is located in the City of Stirling, 13 kilometres north of Perth.

Originally developed during the 1960s and 70s as a housing commission project, the area has an ethnically diverse population of about 8,500, including many new migrants to Australia.

Housing in the area is more economical to buy than it is in many other metropolitan areas. By most international and domestic measures the housing and local facilities are of a good standard.

Also, the size of residential land attached to established homes in the area is often larger than is found in many new residential developments. Many former single residence properties in the area have however aleady been sub divided during recent years to accommodate multiple dwellings.

The relative closeness of the area to Perth when compared to newer developments, is making the area increasingly attractive to first homebuyers and investors.

During recent years many former housing commission homes have been sold to long term tennants, bringing greater numbers of homes in the area into private ownership.

The area is located to the east of Wanneroo Road, between Beach Road to the north and Reid Highway to the south and Mirrabooka Avenue to the east. Several public open spaces are located within the area.
