Kelmscott is located in the City of Armadale, 23 kilometres south east of Perth.

The area has a resident population of about 10,000 and covers 15.9 square kilometres.

The Canning River runs through the area, providing substantial reserves along the riverbanks. Also, Albany Highway cuts through the area from north to south.
